Connection between speech, tools and thoughts
I've just finished half of this reading and there are many thoughts going on in my mind now. When I began to type my thoughts here, I'm not sure the relationship between my language and my thinking. Whether my language shapes my thinking in a logical way, or the ideas in my mind employed my language to express themselves. Is the computer or the keyboard the tool that I am using to control my behaviors and thoughts? Plus the notes I've taken from the reading. Are those auxiliary signs that could create 'functional barrier' between my primary and final moments of reactions?
I've been thinking about how the reorganization of the function of memory and attention may shape my practical operation now. Actually, it's hard to figure out my primary and final operations exactly. Does the language or the tool reshape my gravity of attention on writing this blog or it is this writing process (practical operation) help me combine speech with thoughts through tools?
Vygotsky mentioned the perceptions of the present, past and future. I feel like the distinction between humans and animals lies in the senses of the timeline. However, the animal still has good memories, isn't it? Why they could not infuse the perceptions of the past and future into the present moment so as to reshape their biological organization of behavior. And what're the differences between their language and human being's language. In all, for the transformation from the biological organization of behavior to the psychological system of function, I couldn't fully understand what the role of speech plays in this process.
